Job summary

Verdantas is seeking an experienced Professional Land Surveyor to support our growing survey team in New England, including NH, ME, VT, MA, CT, RI and extending to other regions. You will lead both office-based and field survey operations, planning and managing boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and drone mapping while mentoring junior staff and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree; higher education preferred.
  • 7+ years of professional land surveying experience in northern New England or a similar setting.
  • Professional Surveying License or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Ability to manage projects and handle client relations.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Experience with AutoCAD design software, including Civil3D a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform conventional and GPS computations and analysis.
  • Land records research.
  • Field crew supervision.
  • Take field measurements and stakeout survey projects in Verdantas’ areas of operation.
  • Make boundary decisions based on reconstruction theories.
  • Prepare and seal final surveys for boundary, subdivision, site plan, etc.
  • Prepare engineering basemaps for civil and structural design projects.
  • Communicate with architects, engineers, geologists, etc., in a collaborative effort.
  • Coordinate with the Principal Surveyor for evaluation of staffing, equipment, project, and marketing efforts.

As the Professional Land Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the success of land development and infrastructure projects by leading both office-based and field survey operations. From planning and managing diverse survey types, such as boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and drone mapping, to mentoring junior staff and ensuring regulatory compliance, you will bring technical expertise and strategic oversight to every phase of a project. What You’ll Do:

What You Bring:
  • Associate's Degree; higher education preferred
  • 7 + years of professional experience in the practice of land surveying in northern New England or a similar setting
  • Professional Surveying License or ability to obtain it within 6 monthsPlease
  • Ability to manage projects and handle client relations
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to complete field work, including carrying equipment, cutting traverse lines, and walking on undeveloped sites
  • Ability to occasionally work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Experience with AutoCAD design software, including Civil3D a plus
  • Strong technical skills
Salary Range:

The starting salary for this position is $80,000, with final compensation determined based on years of experience, qualifications, and licensing status
