Job summary

Parkhill in Midland, TX is seeking a licensed Professional Land Surveyor to lead our survey team, mentor staff, and grow the practice. You will oversee boundary, topo, platting, and easement surveys, ensuring quality from research to final submission, and coordinating with PMs, CAD staff, and field crews.

The ideal candidate has a Texas RPLS (or comity), 5+ years in land surveying, proficiency with Trimble GNSS and robotic total stations, GIS software, and knowledge of TBPELS requirements.

Qualifications

  • Active Texas RPLS license or comity-eligible.
  • Bachelor's degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or related field.
  • Proficiency in modern surveying technology and software.
  • Experience with GIS software.
  • Strong knowledge of local and federal surveying laws and regulations.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in land surveying.
  • Proficiency with Trimble GNSS and robotic total stations.
  • Experience with platting, courthouse research, and easement documentation.
  • Ability to maintain quality control, guide workflow, and communicate clearly.
  • Preferred experience with UAVs, scanning, or land development projects.
  • Valid driver's license.

  • Provide clear directions to ensure tasks stay on track.
  • Identify and resolve issues early to prevent delays.
  • Maintain strong communication with internal teams and clients.
  • Guide SITs and technicians toward professional growth and licensure.
  • Reinforce consistent QA/QC standards.
  • Maintain a supportive, professional working environment.
  • Participate in project kickoff and coordination meetings.
  • Prepare proposals for survey work, including scope and project details.
  • Serve as a professional representative for the company with municipal and private‑sector clients.

We are expanding our Surveying practice in Texas and seeking a dedicated RPLS who wants to lead meaningful work, mentor team members, and help strengthen our survey operations.
