Overview

The Professional Land Surveyorprovides accurate, regulatory-compliant survey data to support engineering and architectural design. This role involves leading boundary, topographic, and construction surveys, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring data integrity for land development and infrastructure projects that build stronger communities.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct surveys to determine property boundaries.
  • Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, and reports of surveys.
  • Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
  • Operate and maintain surveying instruments such as GPS equipment, theodolites, and total stations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction teams to deliver accurate land assessments.
  • Research legal records, survey records, and land titles to understand the context of a land area.
  • Supervise and manage field staff to ensure survey accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare and present reports on survey results to clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements pertaining to land surveys
  • Advise on land development and construction projects based on survey results.
Qualifications
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) licensure.
  • Bachelor's degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or related field.
  • Proficiency in modern surveying technology and software.
  • Experience with Geographic Information System (GIS) software.
  • Strong knowledge of local and federal surveying laws and regulations.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in land surveying.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel.
