Job summary

R. Joe Harris & Associates, Inc. is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor to join our Fort Mill, SC team and drive land development and municipal projects from concept to completion.

You will partner with engineers, lead boundary surveys, construction staking, and deliver precise survey data using GPS, robotic total stations, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D, while mentoring junior staff and contributing to project success.

Qualifications

• Licensed land surveyor or eligible for SC licensure.
• Bachelor's degree in surveying, geomatics, or related field.
• 2+ years of land surveying experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GNSS/GPS systems.

Responsibilities

You will partner directly with our engineers to deliver accurate surveying services that bring residential, commercial, and municipal projects from conception to completion.

What You'll Do

• Lead surveying for land development and civil site work projects, from boundary surveys to construction staking.
• Provide survey data that supports grading plans, utilities, stormwater systems, and roadway designs.
• Collaborate closely with civil engineers during planning, design, permitting, and construction phases.
• Utilize GPS, robotic total stations, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D for efficient, high-quality deliverables.
• Mentor and guide junior staff while serving as a technical resource for project teams.

What We're Looking For

• Licensed surveyor or able to obtain licensure in South Carolina.
• Bachelor's degree in surveying, geomatics, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in land surveying, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GPS/GNSS systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineers, clients, and stakeholders.
