Job summary

NextGenEnergyJobs is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to design rail-critical facilities and oversee construction from concept through delivery. You will prepare calculations, plan sets, and cost estimates, working with graduates and senior engineers to meet project goals.

Required is a PE license and 5–12 years of heavy industrial experience; familiarity with regulatory processes and strong client communication are essential. Travel up to 20% is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • PE license in at least one state or the ability to obtain within six months.
  • 5–12 years of experience designing heavy industrial structural projects.
  • Experience with regulatory agencies and permitting processes.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, RISA, and MS Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with proposals and reports.
  • Travel up to 20% for meetings and site visits, including overnight trips.
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering and SE license.
  • Business development experience including proposals and fee estimates.
  • Experience managing structural-specific or multi-discipline projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow project management skills over time, taking on more responsibility as ready.
