Job summary

Horrocks seeks a Professional Engineer for Roadway to design and analyze freeways, interstates, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and shared-use trails, with support from a team.

You will advance along a growth path with mentorship and diverse project experience, driving excellence in transportation design and coordination across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineering license in state of employment or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• 5 years of experience in roadway transportation engineering.
• Experience working on multidisciplinary project teams.
• Solid background in AASHTO roadway geometric design criteria.
• Proficiency using Bentley civil design software is preferred.
• Knowledge of WSDOT/ITD standards and plan preparation procedures.
• Drainage design and/or traffic engineering experience is a plus.
• Solid written and oral communication skills.
• Self-motivated, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project assignment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide variety of transportation projects
• Work under the direction of a Project Manager to lead the roadway design discipline and to coordinate and integrate the other associated design disciplines on projects
• Support project managers with client relations, stakeholder coordination, and sub consultant management
• Interface with coworkers to achieve shared success
