The Professional Engineer (PE) is a vital component of a team that oversees the operation and maintenance of the wastewater conveyance system (System). The System includes several hundred miles of large diameter gravity and pressure pipelines; as well as over 20 high capacity lift stations. The PE acts as the project manager for special projects and studies in the System. They are also responsible for quality control review of System projects managed by the engineering department. Furthermore, they investigate challenges and offer solutions to optimize operation of the System.

Driving a District vehicle for business wil be required. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties are responsible for maintaining a current, valid, and vehicle - appropriate driver' s license of their resident state.
Moderate physical labor and considerable mental attention required with some eyestrain. Generally desirable conditions with some outside visits to work-sites with varying environmental conditions. Considerable time can be spent working with and viewing a computer screen. Considerable time viewing plans, specifications and reading reports and correspondence. Time will be spent at construction sites, traversing rough terrain, climbing stairs and ladders to access structures. Equipment used includes calculators, computers and some field survey equipment.
