Job description

Top Paw Resort is a premier pet care facility located in Carrollton, TX. We have been family owned and operated since 2011, providing the highest level of service in the industry is our passion! We are looking for a highly qualified Professional Groomer to transition into our sole groomer position. Our current groomer has been grooming with us since 2016 and will be "retiring" mid-April. With thousands of established customers, this is an ideal position for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  1. A minimum of 5 years experience grooming and bathing all breeds of dogs of different sizes and temperaments according to client preferences and breed standards.
  2. Exemplary work ethic with a positive, self-motivated mindset.
  3. Self-starter with the ability to work independently, as well as collaborate with other team members when necessary.
  4. Outgoing and friendly demeanor with the desire and passion to help pet parents and our furry customers.
  5. Passion for Top Paw Resort and our mission to provide exemplary care and service.
  6. Animal restraint: Ability to safely handle and restrain animals during grooming procedures.
  7. Understanding of general pet care practices, including feeding, exercise, and hygiene.
  8. Customer service: Strong interpersonal skills to provide excellent customer service and address client concerns or requests.
  9. Dog handling: Proficiency in safely handling dogs of various sizes and temperaments during grooming sessions.
  10. High school diploma or equivalent.
  11. A passion for driving the business and building long-term neighbor/pet relationships.
  12. Ability to stand and bend for an extended period of time.
  13. Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  14. Excellent communication skills with the ability to ask probing questions to ensure clarity around pet needs and neighbor preferences.
  15. Ability to move/lift animals and merchandise over 50 pounds.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Professionally groom all breeds of dogs of different sizes and temperaments according to client preferences and breed standards.
  2. Ensure the safety and well-being of pets during the grooming process.
  3. Provide nail trims, dental care, and ear cleaning.
  4. Assess and address any skin or coat issues, such as matting or fleas.
  5. Ensure that all pets in your care receive a groom that is of professional quality that meets or exceeds the client’s request without ever compromising the physical and emotional health of the pet.
  6. Confirm appointments.
  7. Communicate with the manager/owner any issues or concerns (e.g. injuries, colds, etc.).
  8. Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, clean and maintain equipment and instruments, and clean and sanitize the grooming salon.
  9. Coordinate with the Front of House Staff.
  10. Document client notes.
  11. Approach and greet pet parents, providing quick and courteous service by learning about pets, customer preferences, and determining their needs.
  12. Drive client satisfaction by developing long-term relationships with pet parents.
