Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in nursing, five years of patient care experience, and excellent communication skills. The position is full-time and located on-site in Brooksville, Oklahoma.
The Professional Development Specialist is a clinician with a high degree of knowledge, skill, and competence in patient education and current nursing practices. Provides educational services to the department of nursing, and other ancillary services as appropriate. Acts as a liaison to educational institutions and coordinates student rotation schedules with the hospital directors. Researches and provides educational materials for staff and the community. The educator takes an active role in supporting staff development and retention, and is responsible for collaboration on development and retention initiatives, and develops innovative approaches to improve the program’s effectiveness. The educator acts as a resource, role model, researcher, and consultant of inpatient care, and a mentor. The educator maintains standards, supports performance improvement of the facility, and staff development.
