Job summary

Clarkson College seeks a Professional Development Instructor to teach American Heart Association BLS courses using approved curricula. The role requires current BLS Provider and Instructor certifications, plus at least two years in a healthcare setting utilizing BLS skills.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication and instructional abilities, proficiency with classroom tech, and the capacity to train varied populations.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider certification, required.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Instructor certification, required.
• Minimum two years working experience in a health care occupation or field requiring the utilization of basic life support skills is required.
• Excellent communication and instructional skills required.
• Current valid motor vehicle operator's license and ability to meet and maintain insurability requirements as defined by the fleet automobile liability insurance carrier.
• Ability to work with a varied population of individuals required.
• Proficient in use of classroom equipment (computer, projector, electronic bulletin board, TV, DVD recorder) required.
• Proficient in use of course specific training materials and equipment (medical manikins, barrier devices, external automated defibrillator) required.

Responsibilities
