Job summary

• Experience conducting intake and psycho-social evaluations and developing treatment plans with an interdisciplinary team.
• Ability to provide crisis evaluation and intervention for individuals in acute distress.

Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) or a Provisional Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (PLMFT) plus two years of counseling experience.The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.

Job Duties:

• Completes intake and psycho-social evaluations on primarily adults and some aftercare individuals, which includes providing technical and clinical input on diagnosis and treatment in the interdisciplinary staff consultation with staff prescribers to establish an individual's treatment plan for each individual in treatment.
• Completes correspondence, written reports, and other communications with other agencies regarding an individual's care
• May provide crisis evaluation for individuals who are in acute distress as indicated by a family member, coroner, law authorities, etc., which may require complex and specialized crisis intervention, psychosocial evaluation, and specialized clinical treatment.

Appointment Type: Probational Appointment or Job Appointment

Compensation: This position is eligible for premium pay of $1.00/hour for hours worked performing direct patient care.

The following rates are Special Entrance Rates (SER) established for this agency in these job titles:

• Professional Counselor 3: $22.76/hour minimum - $38.67/hour maximum
• Professional Counselor 4: $24.35/hour minimum - $41.38/hour maximum

Salary may be negotiable depending on the chosen applicant’s level of experience. Note regarding the advertised pay range: The maximum amount listed is the maximum salary a person can make while in this title and NOT the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
