Michigan State University in East Lansing seeks a part-time grader to support online GIS and Geospatial Data Analytics & Visualization courses. This on-call/temporary role covers up to 19 hours per week during 7-week sessions and may be remote-friendly depending on the assignment.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) and experience with geospatial tools, or completion of the onGEO GIS/GDAV certificate. Cover letter and resume/CV are required.

Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Unit Position Summary

The MSU Department of Geography, Environment, and Spatial Sciences seeks part-time (for up to 19 hours/week/7-week session) employees, primarily to help grade our online professional-certificate courses. The department offers non-credit Professional Certificates in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Geospatial Data Analytics & Visualization (GDAV) that attract over 100 students per session. We offer six sessions over the calendar year; each session of the courses runs for 7 weeks.

Desired Qualifications

Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) with experience using Geospatial Tools and Technology, or completion of our onGEO Professional Certificate in GIS or GDAV.
