Job summary

Mathnasium of East Sparks is seeking a part-time Math Instructor to deliver personalized instruction to K-12 students at our Sparks, NV center. You’ll teach in-center, online, and hybrid formats using the Mathnasium Method™, supporting student learning with number sense, homework help, and test prep.

Ideal candidates are flexible, team-oriented, and able to adapt to after-school and Saturday schedules. Training and development are provided; starting wage begins at $15 per hour with a

Qualifications

• Exceptional math skills through Algebra II and Geometry.
• Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to professionally interact with students and parents.
• Energetic and empathetic personality.
• Must work well with the established team; we do everything as a team.
• Ability to teach upper-level high school math is a plus.
• Experience with elementary, middle and high school students is a plus.
• Trigonometry and Calculus a plus.

• Evaluate, grade, and correct student work and homework.
• Support the maintenance of a clean & professional learning environment.
• Assist with non-teaching/ instructional tasks as needed.

Mathnasium of East Sparks, a math-only learning center at 2888 Vista Blvd. Suite 106, Sparks, NV 89434

We have an opportunity that is very flexible and can work with your schedule. Ideal for TMCC, University of Nevada students or other education institutions with their own demanding class schedules. Ideal for those studying early and secondary education.

Our math instructors team up to work with students in grades K-12. In addition to helping students understand math through Number Sense, we assess students using a process to create personalized learning plans along with helping with homework and test preparation.

Instructors will receive training in the Mathnasium Method and Number Sense.

The learning center environment has one goal ... to ensure each student leaves their visit more confident than when they walked in. We lead with empathy and lean on each other to be our best for our students. We measure student learning cycles with a calendar, not a stopwatch.

During the school year

Our hours are Monday through Friday after school and Saturday mornings.

During the summer

Our hours are Monday through Friday offering morning and evening shifts.

Starting at $15 per hour

All applicants are required to take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency, provide work authorization, and pass a background check. Following hiring, the new team member is required to complete training in the Mathnasium Method™.

This is a part-time role with flexible hours.
