Sunflower Child Care Academy LLC in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a Lead Teacher to join our growing team and positively impact young learners in a nurturing, collaborative setting. Your creativity and care will shine as you lead classroom activities and support families.

You will plan developmentally appropriate curricula, mentor assistants, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with state standards, contributing to our warm, family-centered school culture.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) and early childhood frameworks.
• Strong classroom management and communication abilities.
• Current Child Abuse History Clearance, Criminal Background Check, and FBI Clearance (or ability to obtain).
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and curricula.
• Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and aides.
• Monitor and document children's development and share updates with families.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and guardians.
• Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and childcare standards.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development.

Education

• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Current Child Abuse History Clearance, Criminal Background Check, and FBI Clearance (or ability to obtain)
• Current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification preferred
