Job summary

Cenovus Energy Inc. is seeking a Products Planner & Scheduler to join our Toledo Refinery team. The role involves coordinating with Commercial, Marketing, and Logistics to create a feasible daily and long-term plan that accounts for operating conditions and market fluctuations.

Qualified candidates bring a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of refinery or chemical plant experience, with an asset for Chemical Engineering. This on-site role may require backfill support for other scheduling positions.

  • Interface with third-party customers.
  • Schedule pipeline shipments (barge, local pipelines, onsite transfers).
  • Own distillate maximization strategies including Plan vs. Actual and spec optimization.

About this opportunity

Cenovus is seeking a Products Planner & Scheduler to join our Toledo Refinery team. This role is responsible for working with cross-functional Commercial, Marketing, and Logistics teams to schedule feasible daily product movements in and out of the refinery. Utilizing a deep understanding of refinery operations, the successful candidate will create a feasible long-term plan that accounts for changes in operational conditions, as well as fluctuations in market supply and product prices. The position also rotates and provides backfill support for other product scheduling roles.

What you'll do
  • Identify opportunities to improve margins through inventory optimization, logistics efficiencies, and market opportunities.
  • Monitor schedule execution and proactively resolve disruptions, delays, specification issues, and inventory imbalances.
  • Managing and optimizing distillate and NGL product inventories, including Jet fuel, finished diesel, intermediate distillates, Alky Feed, iC4, and Propylene.
  • Interfacing with third-party customers.
  • Scheduling pipeline shipments (barge, local pipelines, onsite transfers).
  • Own distillate maximization strategies including Plan vs. Actual and spec optimization.
Who you are

8+ years of refinery or chemical plant experience is required; process engineering, transportation fuels marketing, and/or refining commercial experience is desirable.
