Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking a Productivity Engineer I to optimize labor standards in a high-volume distribution and logistics operation. You will work with operations managers to develop best-method practices, build and maintain reporting tools, and drive efficiency gains across the network.

The role requires collaboration with supervisors and directors, data analysis, and engagement across timekeeping and labor productivity systems. Hybrid work is possible, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in STEM with Industrial/Systems Engineering preferred or equivalent engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of SQL or MS Access databases.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical capabilities.
  • Time study and work measurement experience in warehouse environment preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with non-exempt associates and upper management; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops engineered labor standards and standard conditions for multi-variable production operations.
  • Identify improvements in methods and workflows to increase productivity and reduce costs.
  • Coordinate implementation of engineered methods, standards and reporting systems with stakeholders.
  • Maintain production reporting applications and interfaces with timekeeping and labor systems.
  • Execute queries for engineering analysis and maintain data collection tools.
  • Collect and summarize time study data to support labor standards development.
  • Support labor forecasting, staffing models and bonus reporting for management.
  • Advise management on economic justification for changes to methods.
