Job summary

Valeo North America seeks a Project Buyer to improve site competitiveness by driving serial materials cost reductions in liaison with the Business Group and Group organization.

The role covers defining procurement strategies, supporting commodity objectives, and managing supplier relationships. You will help build the site budget, implement global standards, and drive actions across electronics/plastics commodities with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or similar.
• Minimum of 4 years experience in purchasing, preferably in automotive manufacturing or in another manufacturing environment.
• SAP experience is preferable.
• Purchasing experience with electronics or plastics commodities is preferable.
• Strategic sourcing / purchasing experience is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement technical/re-sourcing/logistics/VPS materials productivities and reservoir in line with budget requirements, in collaboration with the segment organization.
• Support the commodity organization (Segment Leaders) to reach the site negotiation objectives.
• Drive in front of the MSC material productivity actions and bring suppliers in, in line with budget timing.
• Monitor supplier relationship wherever assigned the role of Key Account Purchasing (KAP) for a given supplier, when not covered by Group commodity organization.
• Implement PG/PL worldwide materials standards in the site(s).
• Build up the site(s) budget together with the Site Purchasing Manager and in liaison with the Segment Leaders.
• Implement mitigation action plan at site level.
• Insure coverage of logistics protocols for all bought out parts.
• Strictly apply the V5000 supplier integration axis standards (internal referential, certifications, procedures, purchasing tools, information systems).

• Specific: Purchasing Index for commodity under respective scope for technical/re-sourcing/logistics/VPS levers in respective site(s); supplier rationalization indicator; productivity reservoir; quality incidents.
