Responsibilities

• Assist in supplier selection, qualification, and evaluation for commodities and services.
• Support contract negotiations, terms, and pricing to ensure cost efficiency.
• Prepare and analyze RFQs and RFPs.
• Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Production, Logistics to define purchasing needs and optimize supply chain.

As a Purchasing Intern, you will contribute to strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier relationship management, and cost optimization efforts within a dynamic automotive environment.

Seeking an intern who is available to start as soon as possible and work year-round on a part-time basis throughout the school year pending class schedule, then full-time throughout the summer.

Responsibilities Also Include:

• Assist in the selection, qualification, and evaluation of suppliers for various commodities and services.
• Support the negotiation of contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure competitive advantage and cost efficiency.
• Prepare and analyze RFQs (Request for Quotation) and RFPs (Request for Proposal).
• Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (R&D, Quality, Production, Logistics) to define purchasing needs and optimize supply chain processes.
• Maintain and update purchasing databases and systems with accurate supplier and pricing information.
• Participate in cost reduction projects and value analysis initiatives.
• Support the implementation of purchasing strategies and policies.
• Generate reports and provide analysis on purchasing activities, market trends, and supplier performance.

What You Should Have:

You are currently a student enrolled in courses working toward a Business Degree or related field.
