Job description

This role is responsible for entry level general labor while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to policies and procedures. Under immediate direction, performs a variety of manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.

Job Responsibilities

• Individual contributor with no direct reports.
• Assist with operation setup lines and areas according to established procedures and specifications.
• Verify correct setup and operation of equipment to achieve desired results.
• Inspect products periodically to ensure specifications are met.
• Assist operators in troubleshooting equipment when necessary.
• Perform operator job functions when needed.
• Report problems to management support.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Follow safety lockout/tag-out procedures.
• Communicate issues to management.
• Follow instructions carefully and assist others as needed.
• Understand and follow GMPs and instruct others accordingly.
• Work safely and report unsafe conditions.
• Understand and practice safety procedures through education and training, using protective equipment as applicable, and following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Skills

• 0-1 years of related experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at machine speed.
• Ability to understand written English preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required.

Work Environment

• Work may be performed in a manufacturing plant with noise, extreme temperatures, and movement of equipment, personnel, and conveyors.
• Conditions typical of a food manufacturing facility.
• No domestic travel required.
• Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds, and frequent bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and standing/walking for more than 4 hours.
