Sealing Devices, Inc. in Lancaster, NY is seeking a Finisher to perform finishing steps on fabricated items, including stamping part numbers, removing cutouts, tagging, labeling, and applying bar codes in a contained work cell.

You will cross-train on other operations, maintain safety, follow quality systems, and report problems. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. This is a full-time, on-site position with opportunities to grow in a collaborative manufacturing environment.

  • Review router and customer specifications.
  • Create product part number stamp and stamping product.
  • Remove product from web.
  • Remove cutouts from product.
  • Tag and bundle usable centers for sheeting department.
  • Create a Sealing Devices, Inc. Label indicating part number and number of pieces.
  • Attach a bar code label.
  • Report quality problems to applicable supervisor.
  • Follow departmental procedures and work instructions as written and recommend improvements as necessary.
  • Perform any other task/activity assigned by the supervisor within the scope of the fabrication system.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements per the Sealing Devices Quality System.

Description

A finisher will conduct the finishing steps necessary to produce the finished fabricated item. This includes but is not limited to stamping part numbers, removing parts/cutouts, bundling and tagging usable centers, labeling product in accordance with customer specifications and work cell instructions. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our production processes. Work will be completed in a contained work cell and will cross-train on other operations in the cell to provide support as needed.

  • Must be able to hear machine sounds, alarms, and verbal instructions in a manufacturing environment.
  • Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, crouching, twisting and climbing to load/unload materials and maintain equipment.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with noise, vibration, and varying temperatures, while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
