VIA, Visually Impaired Advancement is seeking Production Worker I for the Industries department. Under the direction of the Director of Manufacturing, this position is primarily responsible for performing tasks involved in the direct labor of production, storage, and distribution of materials/products.
Essential Functions:
- Cuts, folds, clips, hooks, or otherwise assembles materials to produce sub-assemblies or finished products from raw materials
- Utilize hand-operated tools/equipment/machines to complete production/assembly of finished products (e.g. basic hand tools.)
- Operation of machinery (e.g. sewing machine, fabric cutter, or filling equipment)
- Perform basic testing and quality checks on assembled products prior to packaging
- Label and pack finished goods into correct packages and boxes
- Place finished goods on designated pallets or areas and prepare for shipping
- Follow appropriate notification procedures
- Assist with storage and inventory of goods and raw materials in the warehouse

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalency preferred
- Experience working in manufacturing/line production/machine operation preferred
- Ability to provide documentation of legal blindness preferred
