Job summary

Champion Home Builders, Inc. is seeking a Forklift Operator to join our York, NE team. You will load, unload, and move materials within the plant and yard, assist production, and ensure timely material flow.

Qualifications

• Previous forklift operator experience preferred.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Must be able to pass a 7 Panel Drug Screen.

Responsibilities

• Reads work orders and follows instructions to move materials.
• Loads and unloads materials onto/from pallets, trays, or racks.
• Secures loads and uses strapping or padding as needed.
• Delivers materials to designated areas and signals operators as required.
• Counts and records materials moved on the production sheet.
• Keeps accurate labeling and identification on materials.

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Summary Loads, unloads and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
• Opens containers. Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand.
• Loads material into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
• Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area in a timely manner to assist production team in meeting production time lines.
• Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination.
• Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
• Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
• Loads trucks for Industrial Truck Operator.
• Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.
• Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoists.

Qualifications

• Previous Fork Lift Operator experience desired.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment desired
