Job Title: 2nd Shift General Production Worker
Job Description

The General Production Worker performs manual and mechanical tasks to support the fabrication and assembly of foam and plastic containers. This role involves operating a variety of limited equipment and tools, following simple prints, drawings, and specifications, and ensuring products meet established quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of simple fabrication and assembly operations for foam and plastic containers.
  • Pick parts and supplies from inventory as instructed to support production activities.
  • Assist in the setup and operation of cutting equipment, drilling tools, saws, glue applicators, assembly tools, drill presses, and hand and power tools.
  • Cut stock materials to proper dimensions and tolerances according to instructions and specifications.
  • Carry out gluing, taping, flame treating, and labeling operations as directed.
  • Perform required masking and painting tasks to meet product requirements.
  • Review product specifications on simple jobs to understand production requirements.
  • Conduct required tests, visual inspections, and dimension checks to verify product quality.
  • Detect any out-of-specification conditions and promptly notify a supervisor or manager.
  • Follow established quality standards and safety precautions during all production activities.
  • Use basic math skills and a tape measure to ensure accurate cuts and measurements.
  • Operate tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean work area.
Essential Skills
  • Experience performing basic fabrication and assembly operations in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools, including drill presses, saws, glue applicators, and assembly tools.
  • Proficiency in using a tape measure and applying basic math to measure and cut materials accurately.
  • Ability to read and follow simple prints, drawings, and product specifications.
  • Attention to detail in performing visual inspections and dimension checks to maintain quality standards.
  • Capability to recognize out-of-specification conditions and communicate issues to a supervisor or manager.
  • Understanding and adherence to safety precautions in a production environment.
  • Physical ability to lift 20-30 lbs as part of regular job duties.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Comfort working on 2nd shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
  • Willingness to work approximately 2 hours of overtime daily as needed.
  • Availability to work some Saturdays based on client-specific orders.
  • Ability to work in a potentially loud environment at times.
  • Experience with gluing, taping, flame treating, labeling, masking, and painting processes in manufacturing is a plus.

Work Environment

This role is based in a production facility that can be loud at times due to operating machinery and equipment. You will regularly use cutting tools, drilling equipment, saws, glue applicators, assembly tools, drill presses, and various hand and power tools. The position follows a 2nd shift schedule from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m, with the expectation of approximately 2 hours of overtime daily and some Saturday work depending on client orders. The work involves standing, moving materials, and lifting 20-30 lbs as part of routine tasks, while following established safety precautions throughout the facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ontario, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
