Job summary

InterMetro Industries is seeking a full-time Shipping/Receiving associate on the 1st shift (7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.), Monday through Friday, at its Wilkes-Barre, PA Distribution Center.

The role includes unloading, inventory control, order picking, and loading. Candidates must complete required screening and a 400-hour probationary period. Equal opportunity employer. Relocation is not offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience operating forklifts is preferred.

Job description

InterMetro Industries, a global leader in the manufacturing of storage solutions, is seeking a full-time Shipping/Receiving associate on 1st shift (7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.), Monday through Friday, for its Wilkes-Barre, PA Distribution Center. Associates are required to have the ability to perform all job duties within the Distribution Center to provide proper support to its operations.

Candidates selected must successfully complete screening requirements and a probationary period of 400 working hours. Please note that these opportunities are part of a bargaining unit rooted in seniority principles. Consequently, shifts are not guaranteed. Applicants should be available to work any shift.

Job Responsibilities

• Receive products or materials into the Distribution Center by unloading carriers or containers and putting products into inventory.
• Assist with the management of inventory through proper selecting operations and reporting of inventory discrepancies.
• Pick product or material based on customer orders and transport same to loading or staging areas.
• Load carriers and containers as required.
• Working by hand, or with hand equipment, load or unload containers which are not palletized.
• In preparing orders, make and apply labels.
• Use a computer to locate products or materials as needed.
• Inspect product and/or packaging for quality.
• Meet production and quality standards.
• Must successfully complete the certification process for material handling equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, sit down forklifts and stand-up high reach forklifts.
• Clean and/or maintain cleanliness of Distribution Center and assigned work environment.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Ability to work in a team-based environment.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience operating forklifts.
