Job description

Position: Production Worker
Location: Opp, AL
Shift: 3rd shift
Wage: $19.18/hr

Responsibilities

• Collaborating closely with other departments and teams.
• Thinking on your feet and troubleshooting problems and situations.
• Making incremental process adjustments, monitoring and reporting quality of manufactured product.
• Setting up new jobs, training on other lines and in other departments.
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organized work area.
• Performing all duties as designated by supervisor or manager.
• Supporting Sonoco’s quality and safety policies.
• Helping out other departments as needed.
• Managing downtime as cleaning and straightening time.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Strong “get it done” attitude and urgency to resolve problems and tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
• Forklift certification and safe operation of forklift.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Working knowledge of product and quality requirements.
• Reliability, initiative, commitment and quality focus.
• Effective teamwork in a fast‑paced environment.
• Read and understand manufacturing instructions.
• Perform repetitive duties, including use of stairs and long standing periods.
• Maintain high craftsmanship and attention to detail while working quickly.
