Position Summary
Responsibility for the productivity and quality of the assigned extruder operation. Operators will monitor and master indicators such as temperature, gauge settings, color, and dimensions, reporting any issues to the shift supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Monitor equipment operation, gauges, and panel lights to detect deviations from standards, adjusting controls to correct deviations and ensure equipment operates according to specifications.
- Adhere to all safety, food safety, and relevant policies and procedures.
- Execute lab techniques and sampling procedures as required.
- Properly connect CIP lines to cyclones, transitions, and fluid beds.
- Record gauge readings, test results, and production data accurately.
- Transport materials and products manually or using pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Measure ingredients or materials for batching using scales and pumps.
- Maintain and clean processing equipment, ensuring sanitary conditions with chemicals and cleaning tools.
Work Environment
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, and move for extended periods.
- Work in environments with noise, dust, and temperature variations.
- Perform manual tasks requiring dexterity.
- Exert up to 100 lbs. occasionally, 50 lbs. frequently, and 20 lbs. constantly.
- Perform physical movements such as climbing, stooping, crouching, reaching, and handling.
Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read and understand computer screens and instructions in English.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly.
- Proficiency in basic math skills.
- Comfortable working at heights, including on roofs.
