Job summary

METALWORK is seeking a motivated Production Worker to support a fast-paced manufacturing environment focused on high-quality, American-made office furniture. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts with occasional overtime.

The position includes a starting pay of $16.00 per hour with shift premiums on 2nd and 3rd shifts, plus a 4-day work week, profit sharing, incentive plans, and a range of health and retirement benefits.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with occasional above-shoulder work.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery and equipment while maintaining safety standards.
• Follow standard work sequences as written.
• Monitor production lines and perform visual inspections and basic measurements.
• Load and unload parts and cabinets.
• May weld, grind, assemble, package, or move components with a forklift.
• Maintain a high level of efficiency.
• Communicate production status and safety or quality issues to team and supervisors.
• Adhere to 5S manufacturing practices.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Production Worker to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for supporting the production process in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring that products meet strict quality standards. Your energetic approach and commitment to excellence will help drive continuous improvement and uphold our reputation for high-quality American-made office furniture production.

Shifts

1st shift: Monday - Thursday, 5:00am - 3:30pm (occasional OT on Fridays)

2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday, 3:30pm - 2:00am (occasional OT on Fridays)

3rd Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 11:00pm - 7:00am

Duties

• Operate machinery and equipment in accordance while maintaining safety standards in production.
• Follow and understand standard work sequences as written.
• Monitor production lines to ensure products meet quality standards in production, including visual inspections and basic math calculations for measurements.
• Conduct loading and unloading of parts and or cabinets.
• May be required to weld, grind, assemble, package, or move components with a forklift.
• Maintain a high level of efficiency.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status, safety concerns, or quality issues, demonstrating managerial communication skills.
• Learn, understand and adhere to 5S manufacturing practices.
• Additional duties as required.

Requirements

• Prior experience in manufacturing is a plus - but we're willing to train.
• Must be safety conscious.
• Ability to complete and pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must meet the following essential job requirements as outlined with or without reasonable accommodation: Ability to read and interpret standard work instructions. Ability to communicate as problems arise. Ability to stand/walk for 10+ hours each day in the work cell. Ability to frequently or constantly handle, push, pull and reach components or parts and lift or carry up to 20 lbs. Ability to occasionally reach above the shoulder, squat or kneel, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
