Job summary

Scoular is seeking a Production Worker to support maintenance, operations, safety and quality in our processing facility. This union position requires after 30 days of employment joining the union and includes weekend shifts (Shift A 1:00 AM–9:30 AM, Shift C 4:30 PM–1:00 AM).

You will maintain equipment, assist with preventative maintenance, follow SOPs, participate in safety inspections, manage receiving/shipping with a forklift, and help keep the facility clean and compliant.

Qualifications

• Weekend availability is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing or processing environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot production equipment and machinery.
• Participate in preventative maintenance and inspections for safety and reliability.
• Follow SOPs, document properly, and support quality assurance efforts.
• Support daily operations including receiving/shipping using a forklift and keeping area clean.
• Contribute to cost control and efficiency improvements while maintaining safety.

The Production Worker plays a crucial role in the efficient and safe operation of the processing and handling facility. This position involves executing tasks related to maintenance, operations, safety compliance, and quality assurance to support the facility's daily operations.

This position is a union position and successful candidate must join the union after 30 days of employment.

Candidate must be able to work the following shift

• Shift A: 1:00 AM - 9:30 AM
• Shift C: 4:30 PM - 1:00 AM

Maintenance and Operations

• Execute tasks related to the maintenance and upkeep of production equipment and machinery.
• Participate in the execution of the preventative maintenance program, including inspections and observations of equipment, to ensure equipment functionality and safety.
• Assist in regular maintenance activities to keep equipment in good repair.
• Ensure the facility operates efficiently and safely by promptly addressing any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions.

Safety Compliance

• Adhere to all Federal, State, and Local regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
• Participate in safety meetings and contribute to location inspections to identify and address safety hazards.
• Follow established safety protocols and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure the well-being of all employees.

Quality Assurance

• Assist in maintaining food quality culture and facility cleanliness and sanitation according to established standards.
• Follow documentation practices accurately to support quality assurance efforts.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and participate in training sessions to ensure adherence to quality standards.

Operations Support

• Support daily operations by efficiently managing tasks such as receiving and shipping products using forklift.
• Collaborate with team members to establish guidelines for cleaning equipment and monitor performance to optimize efficiency.
• Assist in minimizing operating expenses while maximizing productivity and efficiency in facility operations.

  Minimum

  • Be able to work in a cool and humid environment for extended periods of time.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team environment.
