Job summary

L&S Electric in Appleton, WI is seeking an Electric Motor Winder Technician for the 2nd shift. You will wind, assemble, and install coils in AC/DC rotating machines and operate specialized repair/testing equipment.

The role requires hands-on skills, safety focus, and the ability to work independently when needed. Overtime, weekdays and weekends may be required. Benefits include health, retirement, and safety gear support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good hand/eye coordination and electrical theory understanding.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and coil winding experience.
• Able to wear PPE and work safely in a manufacturing setting.
• Fluent in English (oral and written) and authorized to work in the United States.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to overtime, weekdays and weekends.
• Experience with rigging and lifting heavy loads, and operating cranes.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment and parts for damage and diagnose issues.
• Wind, assemble, and install coils in AC/DC rotating machines.
• Operate repair/testing equipment used in electrical rotating apparatus repair.
• Braze using oxy-acetylene, induction, or resistance welding.
• Observe safety procedures and use PPE; complete required documentation.
• Provide feedback for costing and scope on rewind projects.
• Maintain shop area and assist in preventative maintenance.

Description

Electric Motor Winder Technician - 2nd Shift

L&S is looking for an experienced Electric Motor Winder for2 nd shift. We are seeking a self-motivated team member that has strong verbal and written communication skill, excellent organization skills, likes to work with their hands, with the ability to work independently and multitask.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect equipment and parts for damage, diagnose possible reason(s) for issues.
• Wind, assemble, and install various types of coils in AC/DC rotating machines using industry best practices.
• Operate specialized repair and testing equipment used in electrical rotating apparatus repair industry.
• Braze using oxy-acetylene, induction, and/or resistance welding techniques.
• Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective equipment.
• Able to perform all essential functions of the job.
• Complete required job documentation.
• Provide feedback to assist in accurate costing and work scope development for rewind projects.
• Utilize manufacturer’s recommendations and industry best.
• Conduct preventative maintenance as required on equipment in you work area.
• Clean and organize shop, as required to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
• Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by supervision.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good hand/eye coordination.
• Understanding of electrical theory and strong mechanical aptitude/skills.
• Able to wear necessary protective equipment.
• Fluent in English (oral and written)
• Authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Previous motor winding experience.
• Must be willing to work overtime, weekdays, and weekends to meet customer service requirements.
• Experience with rigging and lifting heavy loads, and operating overhead cranes.

Preferred:

• Proficient in the use of precision measuring devices, such as micrometers and calipers, etc.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
• Daily use of PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel toed safety shoes.

Schedule: This is a full-time second shift position with potential for overtime. Typical work hours of 12pm-10pm
