New Flyer is hiring for an Immediate Welding opening on 2nd shift (4:00pm–2:30am) with training on days up to 90 days, plus a day shift option (6:00am–2:30pm). The welder will operate MIG welding machines, read blueprints and weld symbols, and work to 5S/lean standards in a heavy manufacturing environment.

2nd Shift Monday through Thursday 4:00pm to 2:30am

Must be able to train on days for up to 90 days

Monday through Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a member of the welding team, this position will be responsible to operate welding machines and work with a variety of weld fixtures while adhering to the CWB welding procedures.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to weld using various material and techniques (specifically MIG).
• Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints and/or process sheets.
• Ability to interpret weld symbols.
• Complete tasks while ensuring performance targets and quality are met.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

• Two to three years' welding experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Have great interpersonal and communication skills.
• Previous experience with 5S and lean manufacturing would be considered an asset.
• Able to perform required duties with minimal supervision.
• Thorough knowledge of all types of welding procedures and practices.
• Per Union Contract: $28.57
