Qualifications

• High school or technical welding program completed.
• Able to pass 2G 1-inch weld test with visual and bend inspections.
• Proficient MIG welding with .045 wire.
• Strong knowledge of welding safety standards and shop practices.

Responsibilities

• Execute high-quality production MIG welding on a variety of structural steel elements (I-beams, joists, plates).
• Maintain consistent weld quality by adhering to parameters (wire speed, amperage).
• Achieve Complete Joint Penetration (CJP) on all assigned assemblies.
• Utilize arc gouging techniques to prepare or refine metal surfaces.
• Read and interpret blueprints to locate and complete welds on pre-fitted components.
• Follow quality control protocols and collaborate with the production team to meet output goals.

• Execute high-quality production MIG welding on a variety of structural steel elements, including I-beams, joists, and connection plates.
• Maintain consistent weld quality by adhering to specific parameters, including wire speed and amperage settings.
• Ensure structural integrity by achieving Complete Joint Penetration (CJP) on all assigned assemblies.
• Utilize arc gouging techniques as necessary to prepare or refine metal surfaces.
• Interpret technical blueprints to accurately locate and complete welds on pre-fitted components.
• Contribute to a culture of safety and excellence by strictly following all established quality control protocols.
• Collaborate with the production team to meet output goals while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Completion of a formal high school or technical school welding program.
• Demonstrated ability to pass a 2G 1-inch horizontal weld test, including visual and bend inspections.
• Proficiency in MIG welding techniques using .045 wire.
• Strong understanding of welding safety standards and shop floor best practices.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with structural steel components such as stiffeners and supporting brackets.
• Proven track record of working efficiently in a high-volume production environment.
• Ability to read and interpret complex structural blueprints and weld symbols.
