Job summary

Maglio Produce in Wisconsin is seeking a Utility Worker to support the production room with hands-on tasks, equipment operation, and quality checks. You will pack, weigh, label, and store fruits and vegetables, while maintaining GMPs and food safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include setting up machinery, monitoring lines, performing routine maintenance checks, and documenting readings.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work with a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, kneel and stand for 8 hours consecutively.
  • Must be able to adapt to a changing work environment (cold to hot).
  • Must be able to work in a wet environment at a fast paced.
  • Must have good attendance.
  • Must be able to follow verbal instructions and respond to management direction.
  • Strong work ethic – willing to do what needs to be done in a timely manner even if it is outside of primary responsibilities.

  • Operate a hand or ride on pallet jack to move product within the facility.
  • Operate various automated packaging & processing equipment in the production process.
  • Set up machinery and ensuring all production materials are readily available for each run.
  • Operate and monitor equipment and replenishing materials as needed.
  • Visually inspecting production runs.
  • Troubleshooting minor line and equipment issues and notifying maintenance if unable to resolve.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and assigned area, perform set-up and changeovers of equipment.
  • Wash, peel, cut, prep, and package various fruits and vegetables.
  • Weigh and measure produce
  • Apply labels to packaging
  • Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
  • Follow company safety and food safety procedures.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, or silverware.
  • Maintain and adhere to GMPs.
  • Accurately record and document equipment readings
  • Other duties as assigned.

OVERVIEW

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1 -2 years of production experience
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills. Need to be creative, adaptable and able to accurately handle out-of-the-ordinary issues with a sense of urgency.
