Job summary

Westrock Coffee is seeking a Production Trainer to lead in-class and on-the-job instruction for production staff. The role emphasizes safe and efficient operation of machinery, tools, and processes on the manufacturing floor, using TWI methodology to ensure precision and quality.

You will train new hires and retrain existing employees, develop content with engineering and supervision, maintain training records, run reports, and support audits while reporting to the Operations Training

Qualifications

  • Understanding of the manufacturing environment and running lines.
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint is required.
  • Ability to train and develop team members through classroom and hands-on instruction.
  • Strong communication, public speaking, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of LMS and training systems.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

  • Train team members on standards set for their area, so staff can perform their tasks with precision, meet quality standards, and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Oversee training of newly hired employees.
  • Update and retrain employees requiring additional training by documenting Skills Matrices and databases.
  • Work with automation, engineers, supervisors to maintain current knowledge on lines.
  • Develop content for existing & new programs that are practical and interactive.
  • Maintain training Matrix database.
  • Research and resolve issues related to training techniques.
  • Drive training initiatives independently or within a team environment.
  • Analyze processes and data to determine training needs and develop materials.
  • Provide training reports and tracking of training progress.
  • Adhere to the Train the trainer program and follow TWI methodology.
  • Foster a culture of Continuous Improvement.
  • Develop and monitor trainees during practical exercises, offering immediate feedback.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors to identify skill gaps and tailor training to address operational needs.
  • Maintain training equipment and ensure it's in safe working conditions.

Job description

The Production Trainer is responsible for assisting with in-class and on-the-job training to production employees, focusing on the safe and efficient operation of machinery, tools, and manufacturing processes. This role involves direct, hands-on instruction TWI (Training Within Industry) setting to ensure team members can perform their tasks with precision, meet quality and production standards, and adhere to safety protocols.
The Production Trainer will conduct training of newly hired employees and retraining employees according to process standards. This position spends time on the manufacturing floor and requires some standing for long periods of time to train, observe, and participate on the production line processes. You will also help to create and maintain training documents and records. Run reports and sometimes attend meeting and audits to give updates or information related to training. This role answers directly to the Operations Training Supervisor.

Job Duties:

  • Working closely with training supervisor and other partners to develop content for existing & new programs that are practical and interactive.
  • Help to maintain training Matrix database.
  • Research and resolve issues related to training techniques.
  • Help drive training initiatives independently or within a team environment.
  • Analyzing processes and data to determine training needs and develop materials.
  • Providing training reports and tracking the progress of training or related projects.

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of the manufacturing environment and running lines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint is required.
