Job summary

S&D Coffee is seeking a Production Trainer Roasting for 1st Shift in Conway, AR. This role focuses on in-class and on-the-job training of production staff, emphasizing safe operation of roasting machinery, quality standards, and process efficiency.

You will train new hires and retrain staff as needed, maintaining training records, conducting on-floor observations, and reporting progress to the Operations Training Supervisor. This position requires hands-on engagement with the line.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the manufacturing environment and running lines.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint is required.
• Ability to train and develop team members to improve performance and process times through classroom, hands on instruction.

• Train team members on standards set for their area, so staff can perform their tasks with precision, meet quality standards, and adhere to safety protocols.
• Help conduct and oversee the training of newly hired employees.
• Updating and retraining employees requiring additional training by documenting Skills Matrices and databases.
• Work with automation, engineers, supervisors, etc. to maintain current knowledge on lines.
• Working closely with training supervisor and other partners to develop content for existing & new programs that are practical and interactive.
• Help to maintain training Matrix database.
• Research and resolve issues related to training techniques.
• Help drive training initiatives independently or within a team environment.
• Analyzing processes and data to determine training needs and develop materials.
• Providing training reports and tracking the progress of training or related projects.
• Adhering to the Train the trainer program and follow TWI (Training Within Industry) methodology.
• Foster a culture of Continuous Improvement.
• Develop and monitor trainees during practical exercises, offering immediate feedback to correct techniques and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Collaborate with production supervisors to identify skill gaps and tailor training to address operational needs.
• Maintain training equipment and ensure it's in safe working conditions for instructional use.

Job Description

The Production Trainer is responsible for assisting with in-class and on-the-job training to production employees, focusing on the safe and efficient operation of machinery, tools, and manufacturing processes. This role involves direct, hands-on instruction TWI (Training Within Industry) setting to ensure team members can perform their tasks with precision, meet quality standards, and adhere to safety protocols. The Production Trainer will conduct training of newly hired employees and retraining employees according to process standards. This position spends time on the manufacturing floor and requires some standing for long periods of time to train, observe, and participate on the production line processes. You will also help to create and maintain training documents and records. Run reports and sometimes attend meeting and audits to give updates or information related to training. This role answers directly to the Operations Training Supervisor.
