Job summary

Group O, Inc. is seeking a Production Test Technician in Haslet, Texas to support reverse logistics and test telecom and electronic product ranges.

You will work with hardware and software testing methodologies, troubleshoot issues, and help ensure production targets are met on time, cost, and quality. The role requires strong teamwork in a telecom/electronic production environment, experience with test equipment, and ability to write detailed test cases and work instructions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as a test technician in a structured product development life cycle.
• 5+ years’ experience with telecom and electronic carrier-grade software testing.
• Experience in a remanufactured testing environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to production and verification of test related failures.
• Assist with production changeovers and setup.
• Work with Technical writing team on Work Instructions and updates.
• Work with engineers to troubleshoot, resolve, and document problems.
• Perform routine PM and maintenance on all lab equipment.
• Test with complex electronic equipment and diagnose failures to component level when needed.
• Provide technical training to Test Operators to improve throughput.

Job description

Production Test Technician

Department: Engineering

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Haslet, Texas (405)

Reporting To: Henry Kim

Compensation: $25.00 - $34.00 / hour

Description

To provide technical support to the reverse logistics and test of telecom and electronic related product ranges, to ensure production targets are met to agreed time, cost and quality requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background working as a team member in a telecom and electronic production environment, supporting and troubleshooting technical related issues. The candidate will have experience with both hardware and software testing methodologies and will be involved in verifying / certifying all aspects of a telecom-grade, fault-tolerant, highly available, hardware and software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Provide technical support to production and verification of test related failures.
• Assist with production changeovers and setup.
• Work with Technical writing team on Work Instructions and updates.
• Work with engineers to troubleshoot, resolve, and document problems.
• Responsible for performing routine PM and maintenance on all lab equipment.
• Testing with use of complex electronic equipment, and diagnosis of productions test failures down to component level if necessary. Identification of corrective action, in a timely manner allowing production to continue in line with program.
• Technical support and training to Test Operators to facilitate the efficient throughput of hardware during production. Assessment of related Test Equipment issues, directing support services to resolve equipment failures.

Secondary Functions:

• Actively participate in some phases of NPI to gain a complete and detailed understanding of the features to be tested.
• Support Lab activities as needed including but not limited to Pre-FAI/FAI/EWP.
• Evaluation of Technical problems in order to develop proposals for investigations and corrective actions, including process improvements.
• Test representative at technical meetings to ensure efficient progress of equipment and quality notifications towards corrective action for products and production.
• Write detailed test cases and test WI based on requirements and design.
• Help reduce regression test cycles with test automation where applicable.

Job Qualifications

Experience:

• Candidate will have experience with both hardware and software testing methodologies and will be involved in verifying, certifying all aspects of a telecom-grade, fault-tolerate, highly available, hardware and software solution.
• 5 or more years’ experience as a test technician in a structured product development life cycle.
• 5 or more years’ experience with telecom and electronic carrier-grade software testing.
• Experience in a Remanufactured testing environment is a plus.

Skills and Qualifications:

• The candidate must have technical competencies in carrier-grade hardware requirements, mobile and other electronic communication protocols, and next generation voice and signaling.
• The candidate must be a self-starter.
• A good understanding of measurement and test principles, and equipment.
• Ability to manage customer software and variant control.
• Efficient at writing work instructions, technical dialog and English as a speaking language in WI Development.
• Must have a good working knowledge of MS Office tools.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
