Job summary

RTX's Huntsville, AL facility is seeking a Production Test Engineer (PTE) II to join a manufacturing team supporting test processes across the product life cycle. This onsite, 2nd shift role focuses on validating hardware against data packages, troubleshooting test failures, and identifying efficiency improvements.

Candidates should have a STEM BS and at least 2 years in manufacturing, with the ability to obtain ATF access.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) required.
  • Minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience in a manufacturing production environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain ATF access.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and provide accurate rework instructions for hardware.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining spares and the test equipment obsolescence plan.
  • Work on projects to reduce test time and improve test processes through data analysis of trends, failures, and yields.
  • Contribute to test capacity analyses and test flows.
  • Maintain changes to the test equipment technical data package (drawings, test instructions, manuals, software).
  • Assist in non-routine fault isolation, diagnosis and repair of product or test equipment.
  • Support root cause investigations and present findings using fault trees and knowledge point plans.

What You Will Do: As a Production Test Engineer(PTE) II you’re part of a manufacturing team that supportsthetest process through one or more phases of the product life cycle, including product development, transition to production, sustained production and depot activities.

As a PTE II you’ll validateandensurecomplianceof the prime hardwareto technical data package requirementsand supporting test equipment.You’ll also troubleshoot and problem solve around test failures, and you’llidentifyopportunities to improve efficiency, yields, and capacity in test processes.

Additional responsibilities may include:(use

  • Troubleshooting and providing accurate rework instructions for the product hardware.
  • Assisting with creating and maintaining spares and the test equipment obsolescence plan.
  • Working on projects to reduce test time and improve the test process through analysis of predictive metrics of trends, failure mode, and test yields.
  • Contributing to test capacity analyses and test flows.
  • Maintaining changes to the test equipment technical data package which includes drawings, test instructions, test position manuals and system software.
  • Assisting in non-routine fault isolation, diagnosis and repair of the product or test equipment.
  • Assisting with root cause and corrective action investigations and presenting findings, utilizing fault trees and knowledge point plans.
  • Assisting with risk assessments and supporting the program’s risk register reviews.

This job is posted as 2nd Shift. Hours are typically 2:00PM - 11:00PM.

This job is posted as ONSITE and is located at Raytheon’s Huntsville, AL facility.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing production environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF).
