Job summary

SP3 Diamond Technologies in Santa Clara, part of the MAPAL Group, is seeking a Production/Manufacturing specialist to coat and prepare customer products using CVD processes. You will operate coating equipment and support process development on-site.

The role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work multiple shifts. Opportunities for training, career development, and advancement are available at MAPAL and SP3 locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in high technology chemical or coating process manufacturing preferred.
• Cleanroom experience a plus; knowledge of safety, health, and environmental practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare customer-supplied product using chemical, electrochemical and mechanical processes for diamond adhesion.
• Operate CVD diamond coating equipment to coat products.
• Run ancillary equipment to post-process coated items for performance and appearance.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with lab standards.
• Perform TPM, troubleshoot and repair equipment, and suggest process improvements.
• Inspect incoming, in-process and outgoing product to meet customer requirements and reduce scrap.
• Implement production processes developed by Process Engineering and R&D.

Since the early1990's, SP3 pioneered the development of CVD diamond technologies. SP3 coats for its customers: cutting tools, silicon wafers, electrodes, CMP pad conditioners, consumables used in semiconductor etching equipment, as well as many other products.

• Using chemical, electrochemical and mechanical process to prepare customer supplied product for diamond adhesion
• Operating CVD diamond coating equipment to diamond coat a variety of products
• Operating ancillary equipment to post process the diamond coated product for improved function and appearance
• Maintaining the work area in accordance with lab cleanliness and safety standards
• Performing equipment total preventive maintenance (TPM), troubleshooting / repairs, implementing corrective actions to root causes and giving improvement recommendations for the overall of safety and performance of process equipment and the manufacturing systems
• Inspect incoming, in process and outgoing product. To follow and improve the inspection process that will meet/exceed customer requirements and improve in house scrap
• Implementation into the production environment of processes developed by Process Engineering and R&D

YOUR PROFILE:

• High school diploma or GED
• Curiosity and a willingness to learn
• Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude and basic problem-solving techniques
• Ideally 3 – 5 years of experience in a high technology chemical or coating process manufacturing environment. Knowledge of thin film coatings and/or CVD/PVD processes desirable. Previous work in a cleanroom environment is a plus
• Basic understanding of safety, health, and environmental practices
• Experience following quality control procedures and meeting production standards
• Good written and verbal communication
• Working knowledge of software programs and computers
• High quality awareness
• Ability to work multiple shifts
