Job summary

Sigma Design in Gresham, OR is seeking a Production Technician to join a world-leading lab diamond and super-materials producer. You will operate CVD diamond production equipment, perform setup and routine maintenance, and monitor process quality.

• Be responsible for first-level trouble-shooting, equipment recoveries and repairs as trained.
• Read production schedules, Bills of Materials, Operational Procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and quality charts, run reports through MES.

Production Technician

Sigma Design has collaborated with a global company seeking an experienced Production Technician to join their facility in Gresham, OR. This company has been operating for over 50 years and is recognized as the world’s leading lab diamond and super-materials producer. This is a full-time permanent opportunity that offers excellent benefits including 4 weeks PTO in addition to 40 hours of sick time, as well as structured career and professional development.

Primary Function

The successful candidate will join the Operations Group as part of a team tasked with operating CVD diamond and associated manufacturing equipment in Gresham, Oregon.

Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities

• Perform machine set-up/operation, routine maintenance, and monitoring of tools and systems.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to monitor equipment performance, diagnose root cause and make reliability improvement recommendations.
• Be responsible for first-level trouble-shooting, equipment recoveries and repairs that are commensurate with level of expertise, (training provided).
• Read production schedules, Bills of Materials, Operational Procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and be responsible for quality charting, prioritization, analyzing and interpreting data tracking, and running reports through an automated Manufacturing Execution System.
• Engage in continuous improvement efforts.
• Notify management of any conditions felt as being undesirable or nonconforming to safety, product specification or any procedures that cannot be performed as documented.
• Provide written and verbal summaries of process, and equipment issues encountered during operation.
• Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

Standard lab/production environment. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients or suppliers. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
