Job description

Sorbothane Inc., an established manufacturing company specializing in visco-elastic materials located in Kent, Ohio, has an opening for a Production Maintenance Technician I.

General Requirements and Responsibilities:

The Production Maintenance Technician I performs preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on complex electrical and mechanical production equipment and systems. They follow standard procedures to monitor equipment for performance, safety, and effectiveness. They conduct equipment failure analysis to complete preventive and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems, and log equipment modifications and maintenance details in the designated system. All safety procedures must be followed. A high school diploma is required. The technician reports to the Plant Manager and works under the close direction of senior personnel, possessing a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. A minimum of 1 year of work experience in a manufacturing plant is required.

Other Responsibilities and Duties:

• Start up production machines daily following standard procedures.
• Mix raw materials as needed for each machine.
• Change over machine colors as needed.
• Perform building maintenance repairs as needed.
• Recycle or dispose of solvents and materials properly.
• Operate production machines as needed.

Perform other tasks and projects as required by the Production Manager.

Job Details:

• Type: Full Time
• Hours: 5:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday through Thursday
• Wage: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
