Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is seeking a Production Technician II to support the manufacture, process and assembly of various products. The role requires technical training and 1–2 years of experience.

You will set up production equipment, follow blueprints and SOPs, monitor quality, and maintain records while ensuring safety and efficiency in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Requires Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience or equivalent.
  • Preference for an Associate's Degree in a technical field.
  • Experience with reading blueprints/diagrams and following SOPs.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates production equipment to manufacture, process, and assemble various commercial products and substances.
  • Uses product specifications, blueprints, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOP) to produce products.
  • Monitors output for quality and conformance to required metrics.
  • Prepares and maintains required records of production activities and reports any inconsistencies or equipment issues.
  • Follows established guidelines for safe material handling and protective gear.
  • Studies and records time, motion, methods, and speed to improve efficiency.
  • Establishes a standard production rate in performance of maintenance, production, clerical, and other worker operations.
  • Troubleshoots issues related to manufacturing operations and industrial layout.

Physical Requirements
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
  • May be requested to work a different shift.
  • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
  • This position is Safety-Sensitive.
Travel Requirements:
