Job summary

Teknova seeks a Production Technician I to support day-to-day production operations. You’ll learn and perform routine procedures under supervision and collaborate with the team to ensure timely product readiness.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and steady problem solving as you assist in media preparation, labeling, and equipment maintenance. A high school diploma and basic chemistry knowledge are preferred, with full-time on-site work in North Carolina.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Background in Chemistry or related science preferred.
• Good human relations and oral/written communication skills.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations on basic dilutions and conversions.
• Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
• Ability to stand on feet for a total of 8-10 hours daily.
• Must be able to carry, lift, push and pull up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Complete all assigned training in a timely manner.
• Prepares the necessary products for the next day production.
• Assists Documentation Department with troubleshooting any formulation deviations.
• Performs routine procedures, such as preparation of media, dispensing, labeling and/or washing vessels.
• Maintains equipment in proper working order.
• Collaborates with manager, team lead and team members daily to meet product deadlines.
• Follows all Standard Operating Procedures for assigned tasks and area.
• Responsible for maintaining appropriate training schedule as it pertains to their primary occupational duties.
• Maintains accurate inventory of materials and assists with proper ordering.
• Accurately records all completion data into the appropriate database and paperwork.
• Learns new procedures and accepts new assignments within reasonable timeframes.
• Recognizes problems; troubleshoots malfunctions in procedures and uses alternative methods.
