Job summary

CoorsTek Oak Ridge is seeking a Production Technician I to support AMP processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will communicate issues, assist engineering, perform testing, and help maintain data records.

The role emphasizes quality gatekeeping, basic SPC analysis, and hands-on setup of production equipment. Candidates should have a high school diploma and at least 1 year of related experience; training on process improvements is provided.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience in AMP processes, lab experience, or demonstrated ability.
  • Intermediate language and math skills.
  • Basic understanding and practical application of Statistical Process Controls.
  • Ability to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates technical issues, process and material deviations and equipment challenges to pertinent personnel.
  • May work with engineering to resolve technical issues.
  • Performs shrinkage/characterization testing (i.e. moisture, slip weight, viscosity).
  • Identifies and suggests innovative solutions to improve quality, decrease cycle time, and reduce costs.
  • Interprets basic SPC control charts and simple capability studies for processes requiring basic statistical software.
  • Assists in analyzing/troubleshooting systems, processes, product or equipment against desired results.
  • Proficient in utilizing manufacturing computer to gather and maintain specified records of technical data.
  • Performs computations, plots data, or draws curves, graphs and charts.
  • May set up production machines and test equipment; uses higher math to calculate surfaces, volumes, etc.
  • Acts as a quality gatekeeper between Engineering and Production to assure processes are followed.
  • Assists in any other areas as assigned.

Production Technician I
  • Communicates technical issues, process and material deviations and equipment challenges in a timely manner to all pertinent personnel (operator, technicians and/or management team members)
  • May work with engineering to resolve technical issues.
  • Performs shrinkage/characterization testing (i.e. moisture, slip weight, viscosity).
  • Identifies and suggests innovative solutions to improve quality, decrease cycle time, and reduce costs.
  • Appropriately interprets and responds to basic SPC control charts and simple capability studies for processes that require the use and application of basic statistical software.
  • Assists in analyzing/troubleshooting systems, processes, product or equipment against the desired results.
  • Proficient in utilizing manufacturing computer to accurately gather and maintain specified records of technical data.
  • Performs computations, plots data, or draws curves, graphs and charts.
  • May set up production machines and test equipment.Utilizes higher math skills to calculate surfaces, volumes, weights, densities and various other measures.
  • Acts as a quality gatekeeper between Engineering and Production to assure all processes are properly followed and materials are manufactured to defined requirements.
  • Assists and/or performs in any and all areas as assigned.
  • May work any and all shifts/days as required.
Job Requirements:
Education
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in AMP processes, lab experience or demonstrated ability.

Target Hiring Range

USD 17.00 - USD 21.00
