Shift Time

4:00 pm-2:30 am Monday thru Thursday plus Fri & Sat as needed for OT each week.

Job Summary

Inspects, assembles, and tests various transmission components, subassemblies, and complete assemblies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspect and qualify transmission parts for use using visual and dimensional criteria.
• Operate measuring instruments and test equipment to determine tolerances or placement of parts.
• Identify parts by model type and part number.
• Assemble subassemblies or components into transmissions using manual, semi-automated, and automated methods.
• Operate air tools, hand tools, and automated equipment.
• Record data manually and electronically.
• Suggest improvements for production, equipment, and quality.
• Perform maintenance and cleaning on equipment.
• Maintain an orderly work area.
• Adhere to QS 9000 and ISO 14001 policies and procedures.

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand regularly, handle objects, reach, perform repetitive grasping, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and lift/move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close and color vision. Must read and understand English.

Work Environment

Occasional proximity to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. Work mostly in an air-conditioned area with moderate noise levels.

Tools and Materials

Tools include air guns, hand tools, torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers. Materials include transmission parts, fluids, lubes, sealing compounds, and cleaning products.

Candidate Requirements

• Must be 18 or older
• Pass background and drug tests
• Willing to work mandatory overtime
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Able to read and understand English
• Experience in manufacturing preferred but not required
