Summary

Shift 2nd M-F 3pm-11:30pm OT as needed including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform root cause analysis of warranty return transmission assemblies. Analyze failed assemblies, components, and transmission fluid to determine failure cause, and document findings for communication to internal and external customers.
• Conduct in-depth root cause investigations of returned transmission assemblies and components. Look at failure symptoms to determine cause factors.
• Determine necessary testing to replicate customer complaints or failure modes, including in-vehicle diagnostics.
• Document findings clearly for internal teams and OE or Aftermarket customer representatives.
• Input daily production scrap data.
• Adhere to IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 policies, procedures, work rules, and instructions.

Qualifications

• Diploma from technical school in transmission or powertrain technology, or related field; or 7+ years related experience; or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret component and assembly drawings. Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing is a plus.
• ASE Transmission Certification preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and communicate technical documents and reports.
• Proficiency with email, Word, and Excel.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interpret instructions.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring standing, walking, and manual handling.
• Work environment involves exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and chemicals; noise level is quiet to moderate.
