Job summary

SPX Flow is seeking a Production Technician to assemble standard and advanced mixer drive units and accessories per company specifications. The role involves reading blueprints, following procedures, and contributing to quality metrics. Training new hires and supporting field service coverage may be required.

Candidates should have 3–5 years in manufacturing, strong mechanical skills, and at least 1 year forklift experience. High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Documents assembly findings as defined by quality procedures.
  • Operates cranes, forklifts and shop machinery.
  • Trains new hires on gear drive assembly procedures.
  • Supports production supervisor to maintain quality goals and metrics.
  • Assists with facility maintenance and final assembly/inspection as needed.

Job Summary

The Production Technician position is responsible for assembling standard and advanced mixer drive units and accessory components to Company specification and procedures.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assembles standard and advanced mixer drives per specifications and procedures. Reads assembly specifications, such as charts, blueprints, schematic diagrams, and engineering specifications to determine requirements for correct assembly.
  • Defines and documents assembly findings outlined in Company procedures defined as critical to quality.
  • Utilizes Production software to capture direct, indirect and rework time and cost.
  • Supports Production Supervisor to maintain or achieve quality goals and metrics.
  • Assists and resolves technical problems with engineering and management staff. Documents defective assemblies or parts via NCR.
  • Provides physical hands on training to new hires on gear drive assembly procedures.
  • Fill in as needed in production and test tank.
  • Serves as additional capacity to cover Field Service when assigned.
  • Operates cranes, forklifts and other shop machinery and tools.
  • Participate on ad-hoc project team(s) and performs other tasks as directed.
  • Assists with Facility Maintenance as requested.
  • Performs final assembly and final inspection when assigned.
  • Performs packing and shipping duties when assigned.Follows safety rules and reports issues to management.
  • Other job tasks and duties as needed and assigned to support the production goals of the company.
  • Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer skills including experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to take initiative and act as a self-starter with tasks.
Education And Experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a similar role in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience with mechanical skills and work environment.
  • Minimum of 1 year forklift experience.
  • High school education or equivalent.
