Job summary

SPX FLOW, Inc. is seeking an Assembly Technician in Wisconsin to assemble, fit, test, and troubleshoot high voltage/high pressure industrial homogenizers and related equipment.

You will interpret engineering drawings, use precision measuring instruments, and safely assemble large mechanical components in a heavy manufacturing environment. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience with high-pressure pumps, rotating equipment, or industrial machinery.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ mechanical assembly experience in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of torque specs, alignment, and pressure testing.
  • Experience with electrical wiring and high-pressure vessels preferred.
  • Technical school certification/associate degree preferred.
  • Experience with cranes, hoists, and forklifts preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install and align mechanical components including pumps, valves, plungers, gearboxes, motors, and piping systems.
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints, assembly drawings, schematics, and bills of materials.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, torque equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Perform mechanical inspections and verify component dimensions and tolerances.
  • Conduct functional testing and troubleshooting of assembled equipment.
  • Identify and resolve assembly issues while maintaining production schedules.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following all safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve assembly processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Some travel may be required for training and knowledge share.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Assembly Technician is responsible for the assembly, fitting, testing, and troubleshooting of high voltage/high pressured industrial homogenizers and related equipment. This role requires the ability to interpret engineering drawings, use precision measuring instruments, and safely assemble large mechanical components in a heavy manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working with high pressure pumps, rotating equipment, or industrial machinery.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities
  • Install and align mechanical components including pumps, valves, plungers, gearboxes, motors, and piping systems.
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints, assembly drawings, schematics, and bills of materials.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, torque equipment, and precision measuring instruments.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to read, write, and process all instructions, written or verbal.
  • Ability to use or willingness to obtain certification for lifting and moving equipment, including overhead cranes, hoists, forklifts, etc. as required.
  • Must have a working knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to interpret manufacturing mechanical blueprints, drawings, and assembly instructions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to troubleshoot both individually and as a team.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Quality oriented mindset, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to complete all tasks in a safe and accurate manner.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and work order tracking.

Education And Experience
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of torque specifications, mechanical alignment, and pressure testing.
  • Experience with, and knowledge of, electrical wiring and high pressure vessels is preferred.
  • Technical school certification or Associate degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Maintenance, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience with cranes, hoists, and forklifts is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee often works near moving mechanical parts.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Specific PPE is required within the cell.

Some travel may be required for this role.
