Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking a production machinist to operate multiple machines (saws, presses, drills) and manufacture products per blueprints and specifications. You will measure, inspect, and adjust setups to ensure parts meet tolerances, and assemble components as needed.

Ideal candidates can lift to 35 pounds, stand for most of the shift, and use small hand tools daily while maintaining quality and safety standards across production lines.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Stand on the job at least 75% of the time.
  • Able to bend, lift, push, or pull without difficulty.
  • Ability to use small hand tools on a daily basis.
  • Frequent twisting of the head, neck, back or hips may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate multiple production machines (saws, presses, drills) to manufacture products per blueprints and specs.
  • Study blueprints, sketches, and manuals to determine dimensions and tolerances.
  • Measure dimensions on the workpiece and verify conformance to specs.
  • Start and run machinery, detect malfunctions, and adjust controls as needed.
  • Verify finished workpiece quality and assemble components as required.
  • Run trial setups and adjust machine settings for accuracy.
  • Test unit operation to ensure functionality and performance.

Operates a multiple of production machines such as saws, presses, drills, and other hand and/or powered equipment, as well as automatic presses and similar equipment which may require raw material to be loaded onto stock reels.

  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, or specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and limited setup requirements.
  • Measures dimensions on workpiece.
  • Starts and runs machinery to produce product, detects malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
  • Adjusts and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  • Tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
  • Assembles product as needed.
