Optimal EV is seeking a Production Technician at our Elkhart facility to perform hands-on vehicle assembly, disassembly, and component installation. The role requires reading drawings, using hand tools and measuring devices, and maintaining safety and quality in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of experience in manufacturing, production, or assembly.
• Ability to read and follow assembly drawings and work instructions.
• Confidence using hand tools, torque wrenches, and measuring equipment.
• Attention to detail in both assembly work and production documentation.
• Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to work through production challenges.
• Clear communication, a cooperative approach, and dependable attendance.

Responsabilités

• Assemble and install vehicle components using hand tools, socket wrenches, torque wrenches, and other production equipment.
• Read assembly drawings and work instructions to identify the correct parts, materials, and installation requirements.
• Use tape measures, digital calipers, and digital protractors to check measurements and component placement.
• Perform assigned vehicle disassembly tasks, including fluid extraction, low-voltage battery removal, and engine, cab, and axle removal.
• Operate hoists and other production equipment according to safety procedures and work instructions.
• Accurately record serial numbers, torque specifications, assembly revision levels, and other required build information.
• Identify and communicate parts issues, assembly concerns, and problems that could affect safety, quality, or production.
• Help improve shop organization, workstations, and assembly-line layouts.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and complete other production duties assigned by your supervisor.

Optimal EV is hiring a Production Technician to help build commercial electric vehicles at our Elkhart manufacturing facility.

This is a hands-on role involving vehicle assembly, disassembly, and component installation. We're looking for someone who is comfortable working with tools, follows build instructions, and takes pride in completing work safely and correctly. You'll work alongside our production team to solve problems, maintain quality, and keep builds moving.
