Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Co. is hiring entry-level production technicians at our Pet Food Plant in Decatur, Alabama. You will join a collaborative manufacturing team focused on safety, quality, and efficiency in producing products like Meow Mix.

You will participate in a 12-hour shift rotation, with opportunities to learn new skills, grow with the company, and contribute to continuous improvement while maintaining a positive workplace culture.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Manufacturing experience preferred (pet food / consumer packaged goods).
• Must be willing to work a 12-hour shift rotation (2-2-3).
• Able to read and interpret documents.
• Demonstrated attendance record and safe work history.

What We’re Looking For:

• Manufacturing experience (preference for pet food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods)
• A proven track record of goodattendanceand consistent performancedeliveringconsistent safety and quality
• Capabilityto work well in a team environmentand be willing to help solve problems and implement solutionswith diverse employees
• Must be willing to be on shift (12-hour 2-2-3 shift rotation, fixed days or nights)
• Safely operate powered industrial equipment and follow all company Safety Rules & Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
• Able to operate, performbasicphysical activities: climbing, standing, bending, twisting, and moving around stairs, ladders, platforms, and various equipment
• Capabilityto work well in a team environmentand be willing to help solve problems and implement solutions
• Must be able toeffectively read, comprehend, interpret, record, and apply information from documents
• Mechanical interest and operational skills
• Able to learn new systems, record operational data and communicate results
• Track quality and waste metrics

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required
