Job summary

Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group, headquartered in Denver, is seeking a Seasonal Production Technician to support show systems and effects equipment for immersive Halloween attractions.

You will work evenings and weekends, performing maintenance, troubleshooting, safety procedures, and end-of-night resets as part of a fast-paced production team in a dark, loud environment.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with lighting, video, audio or other tech in live events.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical safety (AC/DC) and pneumatic systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and calm under pressure.
  • Able to work outdoors in varying weather and loud environments.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Detail-oriented and collaborative within a fast-moving team.
  • Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and service audio playback equipment for consistent performance.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot fog/special effects equipment.
  • Perform nightly pre-show inspections, function checks, and post-show maintenance.
  • Support readiness and reliability of technical elements during all hours of operation.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement timely repairs or temporary solutions.
  • Document issues, repairs, parts used, and equipment status.
  • Track inventory levels and report damaged or replacement-needed items.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe technical workspaces and storage areas.
  • Assist with end-of-night reset procedures and equipment storage.

Do not submit a new application through the online system.What You'll DoAs a Seasonal Production Technician, you help keep the show running safely, smoothly, and at full impact every night. Working under the direction of the Production Manager or Technical Supervisor, you will support the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of show systems and effects equipment used throughout the attraction.Show Systems Operation & MaintenanceMonitor and service audio playback equipment deployed throughout the event to ensure consistent performance and sound quality.Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot fog machines and other effects equipment to support show atmosphere and timing.Perform nightly pre-show inspections, functionality checks, and post-show shutdown and maintenance procedures.Support the readiness and reliability of technical elements across the attraction during all operational hours.Troubleshooting & Live Show SupportRespond quickly and effectively to technical issues during live operations, minimizing downtime and guest impact.Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement timely repairs or temporary solutions as needed to maintain show continuity.Work closely with production leadership and event staff to communicate issues and support seamless nightly operation.Equipment Handling & DocumentationDocument technical issues, repairs completed, parts used, and equipment status accurately and consistently.Track inventory levels and report damaged, missing, or replacement-needed equipment to leadership.Help maintain clean, organized, and safe technical workspaces, storage areas, and control points.Safety & Post-Show ResetFollow all company safety procedures related to electrical systems, tools, atmospheric effects, and backstage work areas.Assist with end-of-night reset procedures, equipment storage, and preparation for the next show day.Maintain professionalism and situational awareness while working in dark, loud, crowded, or outdoor environments.What You BringFamiliarity with lighting, video, audio, or other technical systems used in live events, installations, or themed entertainment environments.Basic knowledge of AC/DC electrical safety, low-voltage wiring, and pneumatic systems.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to stay calm under pressure.Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and in loud, high-traffic, fast-paced environments.Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, bending, climbing, and moving quickly as needed.Strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a fast-moving production team.Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays throughout the event season.Must be 18 years of age or older.Preferred ExperienceExperience with commonly used prop controllers such as Fright Ideas or Gilderfluke.Experience operating fog, haze, snow, or other atmospheric effects machines.Background in technical theater, theme parks, haunted attractions, or live event production.Experience with welding and metal fabrication.Compensation & Employment DetailsHourly Rate: 20hrPursuant to Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the hourly pay rate for this position is listed above.Benefits: This position is not eligible for company-sponsored benefits.Sick Accrual: Employees will accrue paid sick leave as required under Colorado law.Employment Type: Seasonal/TemporaryExpected Season Duration: Late September - Early November 2026Work Schedule: Evenings, weekends, and holidays required during the operational season.This is a seasonal/temporary position with an anticipated end date.
